Parking & directions

Do you accept walk-ins?

Services are available by appointment only.

Will I receive a confirmation?

Appointments are booked through Comb. Check your booking confirmation for your appointment details. If you don’t receive a confirmation, call 816.945.2889.

When I arrive, do I need to notify you?

No. Come in and have a seat in the lobby, or wait in your car and come in 5 minutes early. New clients: please arrive 15 minutes early for paperwork.

Is parking available? Is the studio accessible?

The safest and most convenient parking is around the back. The studio is on the lowest level of a brick house, accessible by descending five steps with a hand-rail. It is not currently accessible to individuals who use wheelchairs or have limited mobility. If you have questions or would like to discuss alternative arrangements, please contact Sara.

How can I change my appointment?

Manage your appointment through Comb using the link in your booking confirmation. To cancel within 48 hours, call or text 816.945.2889. The cancellation / no-show policy still applies.

Why arrive early for a first visit?

New clients arrive 15 minutes early to complete paperwork required for a personalized visit and for legal and safety standards set by the State Board and insurance providers.

What is esthetics, and what does an esthetician do?

In skincare, esthetics focuses on the health and appearance of your skin through non-medical treatments. A licensed esthetician assesses skin type and concerns, offers facials, peels, microdermabrasion, waxing, lash and brow work, and product guidance — and refers to a dermatologist when medical care is needed. Estheticians enhance the skin’s look; dermatologists treat medical issues. Visiting every 4–6 weeks aligns with the skin’s natural turnover cycle.

Sara’s background

Policy

Cancellation, late cancellation & no-show.

By registering your credit card and booking with Evoke Esthetics Parlor, LLC, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms.

48-hour notice required

Evoke Esthetics Parlor requires at least 48 hours’ notice for any cancellation or rescheduling to avoid a fee. You may manage your appointment online up until this deadline. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice — whether phoned, texted, or left via voicemail to 816.945.2889 — will incur a 50% late-cancellation fee.

Card payment for late fees & no-shows

If your card on file cannot be charged for the late-cancellation or no-show fee, Sara will attempt to process it again. Failure to collect payment will result in an invoice and suspension of future booking privileges until the balance is resolved.

No-show — 100% of service cost

Missing your appointment without canceling (or arriving more than 10 minutes late) will result in a charge of 100% of the booked service cost, regardless of whether you rebook. Arriving 10 minutes or later may be considered a no-show.

Habitual late cancellations

After three late cancellations, you will be designated a cash-only client, and services must be paid at the time of your appointment. One additional late cancellation after this will result in loss of all future booking privileges.

Promotions & revisions

Failure to attend a promo-priced appointment forfeits eligibility for that promotional rate in the future. Service and product pricing — and related policies — may change without notice.

What fees are associated with using my credit card?

Evoke Esthetics Parlor absorbs standard credit-card processing fees for regular purchases.

What forms of tender do you accept?

Cash, credit/debit card, and mobile.

Are gift cards available?

Yes — available online with booking. Gift card credit can be kept on file, you can schedule a pickup for a physical card, or arrangements can be made to mail a physical gift card.

Skin + care

Skincare and treatments.

What brand of skincare do you use?

Circadia, a professional-only line founded by Dr. Peter T. Pugliese, a physician and formulator specializing in the science of skin and aging. Circadia is based on the circadian rhythms of the body and the science of chronobiology — the first manufacturer to introduce topical ingredients proven to work with those rhythms. In 2007, grandson Michael Q. Pugliese, BS, LE, became CEO. He received the Beauty Changes Lives Legacy Award in Wellness in May 2025.

Why Circadia?

Founded in 2001 and rooted in cosmetic chemistry (including Dr. Pugliese’s Advanced Professional Skin Care textbooks). Products protect during the day and support repair at night, using botanicals, peptides, and second-generation vitamins. Support includes Circadia University and professional account management, with distribution in over 30 countries.

Can I afford the homecare?

Most Circadia staples (cleansers, serums, moisturizers, masks) fall between $30–$65, with specialty items (like advanced eye treatments) sometimes around $100+. Curated homecare kits align with in-studio treatment recommendations.

What type of facials do you offer?

Facial treatments include Enlighten for new facial clients, Energize, Escape, and SCULPT & SOFTEN, alongside advanced skin transformations. SLO FLO GLO™ brings together somatic skin care, lymphatic flow, fascia release, and facial sculpting through attentive, personalized touch. SCULPT & SOFTEN is the massage-centered experience, with extended sculpting and lymphatic techniques and space to soften. Sara tailors each treatment to your skin and your goals.

MicroDerm — how does it work?

Unique, interchangeable tips are slowly passed across the skin’s surface up to three times to painlessly lift off the outermost dry, damaged layers. Safe for any skin type, including sensitive complexions. Immediate texture improvement; can also treat chest and body areas and help with keratosis pilaris.

What is the REVeal method?

A unique, non-acid peel alternative that activates the skin’s natural repair and energy pathways — especially mitochondrial function and cellular turnover — without creating injury the way acid peels do. It stimulates ATP through the Krebs cycle and signals renewal without damaging the epidermis. Key players include pyruvic acid, niacinamide (vitamin B3), succinic acid, peptides/antioxidants, and a lactic enzyme follow-up about two weeks later. It does not contain glycolic, salicylic, TCA, or phenol. Safe for Fitzpatrick types I–V and can be used year-round.

What is the Jet Plasma treatment?

Two devices: the Jet Cold Plasma Pen (face + neck) to brighten, soften lines, boost collagen, improve texture, and fade scarring or pigmentation; and the Root Cold Plasma Pen (scalp + body) to support hair growth, scalp health, and body areas that show aging or laxity. Treatments are painless, about 15–20 minutes within a longer facial, with no downtime except avoiding makeup or SPF for 12 hours after. Best outcomes with a series of 6 sessions, though 3 can make a visible difference. Avoid applying anything for 12 hours after; no heat, needles, or trauma.

What is a chemical peel?

A chemical solution is used for exfoliation to enhance the appearance of skin and reveal brighter, smoother regenerated skin. I offer gel-based Circadia peels such as Alpha Beta and Lactic Acid, designed to stay on the surface with little to no downtime and little to no peeling. Gel-based formulas are neutralized in studio. After a peel, wear SPF 30 or higher and use the homecare your esthetician recommends.

Ethanol-based peels (Dermafrost 12.5% Salicylic Acid, Mandelic Acid) are not currently offered. Those penetrate more deeply, are self-neutralizing, and may involve three to eight days of peeling and downtime.

What is dermaplaning?

A manual surgical-blade technique that exfoliates dead skin and removes vellus hair (peach fuzz) with light, feathery strokes. Benefits include smoother texture, a diminished look of dry fine lines, faster cell turnover, and better peel penetration. Suitable for anyone over 18; not recommended for acneic skin. Performed on the face, just past the jawline to mid-neck. Peach fuzz grows back the same size, shape, and color — it does not grow back thicker.

Waxing

Precautions to waxing.

It is your responsibility to tell your esthetician if any of the following contraindications apply to you.

What should I know before hair removal?

  • Topical AHAs and retinoids, most prescribed dermatology medicines, and any antibiotics are not compatible with waxing. If possible, discontinue these 7–10 days before your service. Ask your doctor about waxing if you have a prescription that will affect your skin. Some over-the-counter acne and aging products can also be contraindicated if they are too exfoliating.
  • Avoid alcohol or stimulants before your service. Stimulants tighten the pores, making hair removal more difficult and uncomfortable.
  • Hair needs to be at least ¼" long. Please abstain from any type of hair removal for at least two or three weeks before your service.
  • Skin is contraindicated if you use a tanning bed, have sunburned skin, recently received certain exfoliation treatments, or anything similar that impairs the skin’s natural barrier.

What can I expect during a hair removal service?

Typically 15–45 minutes depending on the area and hair type. Skin is held taut and the strip is removed quickly, working in sections. Afterward, oil removes residual NuFree, then Finipil — an antimicrobial finishing product — is applied to soothe, protect, and help prevent ingrown hairs. Finipil is proven to kill 99.999% of germs and is available for home use once or twice daily.

Immediately after, avoid excessive heat or friction for the rest of the day: no workouts, warm showers, soaking in a tub, or fragranced body products on freshly waxed skin.

Common post-wax side effects

Redness and inflammation are very common, especially for first-time clients, and usually subside throughout the day. Sensitivity after a Brazilian or bikini wax is normal — a cool shower, cool compress, aloe, or Finipil can help; avoid tight clothing for a day. A pimple or two can happen even if you are not acne-prone. Ingrown hairs are more common with thicker or curly hair; your esthetician can recommend products, and involving your dermatologist is always a good idea. Red dots or a very small amount of blood is normal where hair is thick and usually goes away quickly.

If you use salicylic acid, glycolic acid, or any AHA, these can cause the skin to “lift.” Tell your esthetician. Stubble, short, or very fine hairs may remain if they were too short or stubborn.

Do you do male-anatomy Brazilians?

Brazilian waxing is currently offered for female anatomy only.

What brand do you use?

NuFree — it contains zero wax, sugar, or honey. It is a gentle soy-based hair removal system that never sticks to the skin, is botanical and anhydrous (self-preserving antibacterial / antimicrobial), can be erased any time, and uses no animal products. The warmer never exceeds 98.6°F. Disposable sticks/strips and sanitary handling are standard. A hard-wax option is available if you prefer, and some areas may only need tweezers.

Color & lift

Tinting, henna, lift & lamination.

How long does a brow or lash tint last?

This depends on skin type and habits. Tint usually lasts at least 3 weeks and usually up to 6 weeks. A variety of shades is available.

How long does henna brow color last?

Usually the life of the brow hair — up to 6, 7, or 8 weeks. The skin stain from application lasts 5–14 days depending on skin type and habits.

What is a lash lift, and how long does it last?

A lash perm with an upward lift rather than a severe curl. It usually lasts the lifecycle of the lash, about 8 weeks. Sara uses a vegan keratin cysteamine HCL lash lift and brow lamination system in three nutrient-infused steps to thicken, lengthen, condition, strengthen, and seal benefits — unlike systems that condition only after neutralizing.

What is brow lamination, and how long does it last?

A lift of the brow hair using perm solutions so brows appear more full. It usually lasts the lifecycle of the brow hair, about 8 weeks. A more impactful look is achieved if you also book a brow tint at the same time. Henna can be done as well, except it needs to be done on a later date. Do not arrive with trimmed brow hair — hair should be fully grown out for best results.

What if I am sensitive or allergic?

Book a patch test first, 24–48 hours prior to tint, lift, or lamination. A patch test does not guarantee you will not react to a full-service application. Refer to your doctor if you have concerns.

Aftercare following a lift or lamination

Avoid water, moisture, and humidity on those hairs for at least 24 hours. Avoid sleeping on the treated hair for at least 24–48 hours, as this may crimp the hairs or change their direction.
